Clubs

This guide will show clubs how to add match goals, cards and substitutions and how to correct wrongly added events on the COMET Football app.

Club users with the roles of Club ManagerClub Manager (Junior) and Team line-up Manager are able to add and correct match events on COMET.

For consistency and to avoid duplication we recommend that the home club enters the match events, however the away club can also do this if the home club is unable to.  Once both clubs have confirmed their team line-up, they can access each others line-ups to add match events.

Ideally, match events should be added in real time so that fans can get updates on the Cymru Football app, but if this is not possible, they can also be added as soon after the match as possible.

If you have a match referee, please inform the referee when you have added all match events, or if there is a delay in doing so, as after the referee has confirmed the match (by moving it to Played) neither club nor referee will be able to edit match events.

To start adding a match event, tap the team (Home or Away) tab and tap the player or coach that you want to add the event to.

Adding a goal

On the Add event screen, tap Goal.

You can also choose Own goal, Penalty or Missed penalty.

In the Goal screen, tap the Minute box, to enter the minute in which the goal was scored.  Type in the minute of the goal and tap the tick to record the time.

To add an Assist tap the Assist box, then tap the player you want to award the assist to in the drop down list (which will include all players on the team who are the pitch at the time of the goal).

Tap Save to record the goal (and assist if added).

You will then be able to see the goal recorded against the scorer in the line-up.

Adding a yellow card

To add a yellow card, tap the player you want to add the card to in the Home or Away tab.

In the Add event box, tap Yellow card.

In the Yellow card screen, tap the minute box to type in the minute that the card was awarded.

You can also enter a card awarded before a match, at half time or after the match by tapping the Outside match phases box, and selecting from the following options: Before the match, During the break or After the match.

When adding a card you will need to add a Reason.  Tap the Reason box, then select the reason from the Reason drop down list.

Don't worry if you are unsure of the reason, as the referee will check this and change it if necessary after the match.

When you have added the Minute and Reason, tap Save to record the yellow card.

Adding a Red card

To add a red card, tap the player you want to add the card to in the Home or Away tab.

In the Add event box, tap Red card.

In the Red card screen, tap the minute box to type in the minute that the card was awarded or the Outside match phases box, to add a card awarded Before the match, During the break or After the match.

Tap the Reason box to select the reason for the card from the drop down list of reasons.  You will need to enter a reason to be able to save the card, but don't worry if you are unsure of the reason that the card was awarded, the referee will check and if necessary correct this after the match.

Tap Save to record the card.

Adding a substitution

To add a substitution, firstly tap the name of the player coming on in the Home or Away tab.

In the Add event box, tap Substitution.

Tap the Minute box to enter the time of the substitution.

Next tap the Substritution box.  You will then be able to select the player being replaced by tapping their name in the list of players currently on the pitch.

Tap Save to record the substitution.  You will then see a small green arrow against the substitutes name to show that they have been brought on.

Correcting match events added incorrectly

Before the match has been confirmed by the status being changed to Played, club users are able to correct any match events that have been entered incorrectly.

Once a match has been changed to Played status, neither the club nor referee is able to make any changes, so any error spotted at this stage should be reported to the Competition Manager who can make the change.

changing details of a match event

If a match event has been added to the correct player, but with the wrong details, e.g. the wrong time or the wrong reason for a card, this can be corrected.  Tap the player name in the Home or Away tab.

Next, on the Edit events screen tap the match event that you want to edit.

Then tap the detail you want to change, e.g. the minute that the event happened, the reason for a card, or the person being replaced in a substitution.

When you have made the change, tap Save.

correcting an event added to the wrong person

If a match event has been added to the wrong person, you will first need to delete the event, then add the event to the correct player.

To delete an event tap the name of the player that the event has been added to in the Home or Away tab.

Next, tap the event you want to delete.

You will see a bin icon at the top right of the match event screen.  Tap the bin to delete the match event.

This will then be removed from the player record.

To add the event to the coorect player, follow the normal process on adding match events as described earlier in this guide.

Remember, once a match has been moved to Played status, club users and referees will no longer be able to make any changes and will need to ask the Competition Manager to do this.
