In this section, you will need to select YES or NO to all answers, apart from 4.2 where you will have the option of uploading a copy of your Club Safeguarding policy.
To upload a cop of this policy you need to click on the Red paper icon highlighted.
In the pop-up box that appears, you then need to change the document type to Supporting document instead of Generated by COMET.
You then need to click the Choose button and upload your Clubs Policy by double clicking on it wherever it is saved on your device.
When a person registers on COMET under any role (player, coach, staff, official or referee), they have to sign a registration form, and in doing so, they agree to the FAW’s Privacy Notice. As can be seen, this refers to the person’s details appearing on websites and the Cymru Football app. This is the basis of consent to use the person’s details on the app.
An individual also has to specify their marketing consent on the registration form and under GDPR rules:
In order to take the necessary safeguarding measures, the COMET System has been configured so that the photo of any player aged under 16 is automatically hidden on the app. Please also note that the app also does not contain any contact details for the individual, regardless of their age.
Please also note the only information the app will ever show is name, age, photo (if over 16) and any matches that individual has been added to a team lineup for on the app. No other information such as address or contact details as mentioned above are accessible via the Cymru Football app.
The FAW is fully aware and appreciates there will be scenarios whereby an individuals information may need to remain private, or where an individual may wish the information to remain private. As such, on each person’s COMET profile, there are privacy settings. These privacy settings can be amended so for that person, some, or all, of their details will then be hidden from appearing on the app.
Since players, coaches, staff and officials do not have access to the COMET System (unless set up as a user in a specific role by their organisation), changes to their privacy settings will need to be actioned by clubs, leagues or Area Associations acting on their behalf, and in making such changes, the FAW will ask all organisations to maintain copies of the correspondence from these individuals (or their parents/guardians) as an audit trail requesting these changes.
If an individual has contacted their organisation asking to have certain or all details hidden, or to have previously hidden details shown on the app, it is a very simple process for the relevant users of an organisation to change this for the individual.
To begin with, the organisation user just needs to navigate to the persons registration page with their organisation.
Once on the persons page, simply click the Edit button on the top part of the page by the persons details, and then click on to the Additional Info tab. (Do not click the Edit button in the person's Active registrations tab, as this could result in terminating their registration by accident).
Once on the Additional Info tab, you now need to go to the bottom left corner to the Privacy box.
Here there will be a number of options you can choose from:
Once you have selected the desired privacy setting, simply click save at the top half of the page by the persons details. The privacy setting will be updated instantly and be reflected in the app.
