In this section, you will need to select YES or NO to all answers, apart from 4.2 where you will have the option of uploading a copy of your Club Safeguarding policy.

To upload a cop of this policy you need to click on the Red paper icon highlighted.

In the pop-up box that appears, you then need to change the document type to Supporting document instead of Generated by COMET.

You then need to click the Choose button and upload your Clubs Policy by double clicking on it wherever it is saved on your device.

Uploading the required affiliation documents before purchasing affiliation products

As part of the affiliation process, clubs must also action the following on COMET:

•Enter the date their club was founded;

•Select their home ground;

•Create and save their playing kits;

•Add all of the different teams they operate under their MyClub profile on COMET;

•Upload a copy of their financial accounts (if required by the FAW or your Area – please check with them directly if you are unsure); and

•Ensure that all of their club officials have registered on COMET for the 2020/21 season.

Before proceeding to purchase an Area Association or FAW affiliation fee via COMET, you need to ensure you have uploaded the relevant documents and information on COMET for the Area and/or FAW to review to be able to accept your affiliation.

If the required documents are not uploaded to COMET, or the requirements for affiliation are not met, the Area Association and/or FAW will then cancel this affiliation and refund the Affiliation fee to you.

To upload any required documents, you would need to click on the Clubs button and then go into your My Club section.

You then need to click the Edit button towards the top of the page and then click on the Documents button.

Selecting documents from your device

Once you have clicked Documents, this pop-up box will appear.

You now need to change the document type from Club logo to Other.

Once you have done this, click on the Choose button and this will open up your laptop/PC device where you can select the documents you need to upload.

Simply double-click the relevant document and this will immediately upload onto COMET.

The Affiliation document has now been uploaded

Once you have double-clicked on the document from your device, it should then appear within the 'Other' section of your documents.

You have now uploaded the relevant document for the Area Association and/or FAW to review for your affiliation.

If you need to upload several documents then you would just follow this same process for each document until you have included everything you need.

This documents section is restricted to the club itself and the relevant Area Association and FAW officials only, so the documents are securely stored here.

Paying an affilaition fee via MyComet

You now need to affiliate to your Area Association or the FAW via the COMET system.

You can purchase affiliation via COMET in two ways;

1. Once you are logged into COMET, click on the MyComet button on the top of the screen in order to go onto the payment section of the site and find and select the relevant affiliation fee(s) to purchase.

2. The FAW will be creating an online link for every affiliation product on COMET. Please see link at the top of this page for a full list of Affiliation products on COMET.

Once you click on this link it will take you to the COMET log-in page, and once logged in using your COMET log-in details, it will take you straight to that Affiliation fee page on MyComet where you can then purchase the Affiliation.

Click on the Products button on MyComet

Once on the MyComet page, click on the Products button to view a full list of all competition entries and affiliation fees you can purchase.

When accessing MyComet, as with the main COMET page, Google Chrome is the best and most compatible web browser so we would recommend using Google Chrome as your browser.

Searching for the relevant affiliation fee

Once on the products page, you now need to find the affiliation fee you are looking to pay for.

You firstly need to select the relevant Area Association or the FAW. You can change this selection by pressing the cross next to the organisations name once selected.

Once you have selected the relevant Area or the FAW, if there are a lot of products on offer, you can filter the search even further to easily find the affiliation fee you need to pay for.

To do this, simply start typing the word 'affiliation' in the section highlighted beneath the Area/FAW.

This will filter out all other products, making it easy to select the affiliation fee you are purchasing. Page

Proceed to the Affiliation Fee purchase page

Once you have found the relevant affiliation fee, click on the arrow or shopping cart icons to proceed to the purchase page.

Paying an affiliation fee via web link

Log-in to COMET if not already done so

Once you have clicked on the web link, it will take you to the COMET page if you are not already logged in.

You then need to input your COMET username and password.

If you are already logged into COMET when clicking on the link, it will take you straight to the product page.

You will now be on the product page

Once logged in you will immediately be on the affiliation product page ready to complete the purchase.

Completing the payment process

Once you have arrived on the product page, whether via MyComet or the web link, you now need to tick the box to confirm that the club is agreeing to the rules and terms and conditions of the relevant affiliation fee.

If you have not yet uploaded the required documents on COMET you should not proceed until done so.

Once you have added the required documents on COMET and are satisfied your club meets the affiliation requirements, click the Add to Cart button on the right hand side of the screen.

Proceed to checkout

Once you have added the affiliation fee to your cart, you will notice in the top right hand corner of your screen, the shopping cart icon will now have a number in it to show you have successfully added the affiliation fee.

At this point you can either return to your My Comet dashboard to add any further products to your shopping cart, such as player membership fees or competition entry fees.

If ready to purchase the affiliation fee though, click on the Cart Summary button to proceed.

Check the Terms and Conditions and proceed to PayPal

Once you have clicked Cart Summary, you now need to review your purchase and tick to agree you have read the terms and conditions of the transaction.

Once you have read and ticked the box to confirm, a yellow PayPal button will appear.

Click on this button to proceed to PayPal to complete your payment.

Login to your PayPal account

At this point the system will take you to your PayPal login page to complete the payment.

Input your PayPal log-in details and click the Log In button.

You now just need to follow the usual PayPal check out process.

Complete the payment

Once logged into PayPal, you will be on the payment summary page.

You can still review your purchase in the top right-hand corner and the summary page will then contain billing addresses and payment methods you may use to make payments via this account.

If you need to cancel the payment at this stage, you can click on the Cancel and return to FAW button highlighted.

If ready to pay though, just click on Pay Now.

Payment complete

PayPal will process the payment and once successful, the system will take you back to your MyComet homepage.

You will get the above message on your screen confirming the payment has been made whilst the system sends you back to MyComet.

You must not close or refresh your browser when the above message is showing.

You should only do so once you have been returned back to MyComet.

Otherwise there is a risk you could be charged multiple times or there is a chance the transaction will not record on COMET but you could still be charged.

Accessing the invoice on MyComet

Once back on the MyCOMET homepage, you will see a record of this payment in the My Items section.

You will also be able to access a copy of the payment invoice in the Payments section underneath the items section.

Confirmation via email

You will also have received a confirmation email as soon as the payment went through, listing any products purchased, along with a copy of the invoice attached to the email as proof of payment.

You have now done everything you need to in order to pay for an Affiliation fee via COMET.
