In this section, you will need to select YES or NO to all answers, apart from 4.2 where you will have the option of uploading a copy of your Club Safeguarding policy.
To upload a cop of this policy you need to click on the Red paper icon highlighted.
In the pop-up box that appears, you then need to change the document type to Supporting document instead of Generated by COMET.
You then need to click the Choose button and upload your Clubs Policy by double clicking on it wherever it is saved on your device.
From the 2021/22 Season, clubs will now need to complete their affiliation applications via the Comet system. These applications will be accessible via the Licensing section of your Comet dashboard.
If you are a club playing in any of the following leagues, you will need to affiliate to the FAW via Comet:
Welsh Premier Women's League
If you are a club playing in any other competitions, or may have a senior team in the leagues listed above, but also have teams in competitions at regional level, you will need to affiliate to the relevant Area Association these competitions take place in, via Comet.
The initial notification regarding the applications being open will be sent to anyone at the club with the Club Manager or Club Licensing Club Responsible user roles, but it is important to note the applications will only be accessible by people at your club that have the Club Licensing Club Responsible user roles.
Anyone at your club with the User Creator role will be able to add this access for any relevant users at your club that may need to access this application.
However, please note a user cannot amend their own user access. In these cases, anybody else at the club with User creator can amend your user roles to add Club Licensing Club Responsible, or if you are the only person at the club with User Creator, you can log a help ticket and the FAW can do this for you as well.

Once you have gone into My applications, simply click on the relevant affiliation application to take you into the application page.
To fill in the application, firstly click Edit towards the top left of the application and then proceed to the questions. By clicking on each question it will expand the box and tell you exactly what you need to do to complete that question.
You are able to save this at any point to come back to it.
The system will not let you submit your application until all of the mandatory fields have been filled in, but please read each question carefully to ensure you haven't missed anything, as some questions may require you to only fill in one part or another.
If you were to miss these questions, the organisation reviewing it could potentially reject this application and return it to you to then have to fill in, thus causing a slight delay for you in completing the affiliation process.
As mentioned above, by clicking on a question, it will expand the box to show you what you need to enter for each question. There are several ways a question can be answered, and all are very straightforward.
The blue cog symbol shows there is a system generated document which contains the relevant information, so all you need to do is click this button and it will automatically pull across the required information, saving you the need to fill in information you have already entered onto COMET.
However, it is important to note that for this to work, the relevant information must already be entered in the relevant place on COMET.
For example, if providing your Club Secretary information, if the person is not already Confirmed on COMET in the Secretary role for your club, or the contact number is missing, then this report will either appear blank or incomplete if you were to click the Blue Cog Icon.
Likewise if providing a list of your clubs teams, if you have not entered all teams, or not removed any teams no longer operating at your club, this information will be omitted or showing incorrectly accordingly in the report.
Please therefore ensure any required information is correctly entered on COMET BEFORE clicking the blue cog icon for these types of question.
One aspect that will be particularly important is adding phone numbers of Club Officials and Coaches.
This is because this information is not a mandatory requirement to register an individual on COMET, however is something that Areas and Leagues will need as part of the affiliation process.
It is therefore important you add phone numbers to the contacts section for these personnel, before clicking the icon to upload these reports from the system. You will only have to do this once, or if the number changes. So if it was to remain the same season to season you would not have to keep entering this same information every season.

The box highlighted above in black is an example of a question with a free text box.
For these questions you simply type an answer to the question.
This evidence type requires you to click Yes or no in response to a question, e.g. to agree to Rules and Regulations.
In most questions with this type, you will likely be selecting Yes.
The Paper Icon allows you to upload a document as certain proof to a question, e.g. proof of purchase of the Affiliation product or a copy of your Clubs income and expenditure if requested by certain Areas. Click on the Paper icon shown in the first picture and it will take you to the pop up box shown in the picture below it, where you will be able to upload a document saved on your device.
One other thing to note regarding the Paper Icon - Where the paper icon is shown next to any questions where you have needed to click the blue cog icon, by clicking the paper icon next to the blue cog icon, it will allow you to go in and view the information that you have uploaded for that particular blue cog icon question.
Once you have answered every question, you are now ready to submit your affiliation application for approval. You do this by clicking the SUBMIT button highlighted above.
If any sections are missing the system will not allow you to submit this and highlight any questions that may be missing.
Any questions in red mean the system will not allow you to submit the application unless they are filled in, however as mentioned above, there may be some questions not in red because it requires you to answer one or the other, so please ensure to read all sections carefully before submitting.
Once completed and you have clicked SUBMIT, the applications status will change to Submitted and the FAW or relevant Area Association will receive an email notifying them that you have submitted this, ready for them to review accordingly.
As the persons responsible for reviewing your application, they will be able to see your application at any point to see your progress. The system will only send an email when there is a change in status.
Once you have submitted your application, the FAW or Area Association will then review this.
If there are any issues, they are able to leave notes if rejecting a specific question and then return the application to you. At this point you will get an email notifying you of this. When you log into COMET and go to your application, you will be able to see any notes and also note that some questions will show as CONFIRMED, but some may show as Open if you need to action anything further.
You simply update as required and then re-submit, at which point the system will then email the FAW/Area Association to let them know when you do this.
Once everything is confirmed, the FAW/Area Association will move the application to CONFIRMED and you will recieve an email notifying you of this and will be able to see this on the application in COMET.
If you go to the Additional Info tab on your clubs COMET page, you will also be able to see your confirmed affiliation status for the season. This section is also used to confirm any Club Licensing and Club Accreditation Levels achieved by clubs.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, any club that Affiliated for the 2020/21 season will not need to purchase affiliation again for the 2021/22 season.
However, if you are a new club or did not affiliate last season, you will be required to purchase the relevant club affiliation product and upload proof of this purchase to the affiliation application, in the form of a copy or photo of the system generated invoice.
This can be done in 2 ways:
1. Going into MyComet from your main COMET account and then locating the relevant Club Affiliation product to add to your cart and purchase.
2. Accessing the Club Affiliation product directly via a link provided
Both methods are the same, the link just saves trying to find the Club Affiliation products in Mycomet, as you will be taken directly to the product page by clicking on the link.
Once logged into Comet, you need to click the MyComet button highlighted on the top menu of the screen, this will then transfer you to the MyComet finance section.
Once on the MyComet screen, you need to go into the Products tab.
Then, where highlighted in black, you can input the FAW or Area Association initials in the top box to narrow down the list of products to that particular region. They would be shown as one of the following:
FAW - for the clubs in any of the FAW leagues mentioned at the top of this guide
Then the below if competing in any competitions based in the following areas:
CWFA - Central Wales FA,
GCFA - Gwent County FA
NEWFA - North East Wales FA
NWCFA - North Wales Coast FA
SWFA - South Wales FA
WWFA - West Wales FA
Then in the box highlighted beneath the top line, if you start typing the word 'affiliation' it will narrow down all the products you can purchase relating to the Area, to just show you the affiliation products.
You then just need to select the relevant Club Affiliation product for the Senior, Youth or Junior section.
MAKE SURE TO ONLY SELECT THE AFFILIATION PRODUCTS THAT REFER TO CLUBS IN THEM.
For example, if you are a junior club, you would only need to purchase the Junior Club Affiliation product, if you are a Senior club you would only need to purchase the Senior Club affiliation product.
If your club ran a Senior, Youth and Junior section, you would then need to purchase all three Club Affiliation products.
Click on the shopping cart icon on the right of the screen to proceed.
This link will be shared by the FAW/Area Association once the products are available to purchase.
You can also contact either to ask for a copy of these links if needed. Once you have the link and have clicked on it, it will take you to the COMET log-in page if you are not already logged in.
You then need to input your COMET username and password and it will take you directly to the product page.
If you are already logged into COMET when clicking on the link, it will take you straight to the product page.
Once logged in you will immediately be on the affiliation product page ready to complete the purchase.
At this point, whether you have arrived by finding the product in MyComet, or by clicking on the product link, the process is exactly the same to complete the process.
You now need to tick the box to confirm that the club is agreeing to the rules and terms and conditions of the relevant affiliation fee and click the Add to Cart button on the right hand side of the screen.
Once you have added the affiliation fee to your cart, you will notice in the top right hand corner of your screen, the shopping cart icon will now have a number in it to show you have successfully added the affiliation fee.
If ready to purchase the club affiliation fee, click on the Cart Summary button to proceed.
Once you have clicked Cart Summary, you now need to review your purchase and tick to agree you have read the terms and conditions of the transaction.
Once you have read and ticked the box to confirm, a yellow PayPal button will appear.
Click on this button to proceed to PayPal to complete your payment.
At this point the system will take you to your PayPal login page to complete the payment.
Input your PayPal log-in details and click the Log In button.
You now just need to follow the usual PayPal check out process.
Once logged into PayPal, you will be on the payment summary page.
You can still review your purchase in the top right-hand corner and the summary page will then contain billing addresses and payment methods you may use to make payments via this account.
If you need to cancel the payment at this stage, you can click on the Cancel and return button highlighted.
If ready to pay though, just click on Pay Now.
PayPal will process the payment and once successful, the system will take you back to your MyComet homepage.
You will get the above message on your screen confirming the payment has been made whilst the system sends you back to MyComet.
You must not close or refresh your browser when the above message is showing.
You should only do so once you have been returned back to MyComet.
Otherwise there is a risk you could be charged multiple times or there is a chance the transaction will not record on COMET but you could still be charged.
Once back on the MyCOMET homepage, you will see a record of this payment in the My Items section.
You will also be able to access a copy of the payment invoice in the Payments section underneath the items section.
You will also have received a confirmation email as soon as the payment went through, listing any products purchased, along with a copy of the invoice attached to the email as proof of payment.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to upload proof of purchase using either the confirmation email or a copy of the invoice, within the Affiliation application on COMET.
You have now done everything you need to in order to pay for an Affiliation fee via COMET.
